How to think in English.

How can you train your brain to stop translating and start thinking directly in English?

Step 1:
Start with simple words you see around you every day.
Try to name everything around you in English.
Instead of thinking about them in your native language, say their English names directly.
Use simple sentence structures, like “This is a chair”, “My phone is on the table”, or “I see a window”.
Even though these structures are basic, this small daily habit will help your brain get used to using English for simple things.
Thinking in English begins with the little things you see every day.

Step 2:
Use English when you talk to yourself or think about your daily life.
Start expressing your thoughts in English in your mind. For example, when you're brushing your teeth, think, “I'm brushing my teeth now.” When you're getting ready for work, think, “I need to hurry, or I'll be late.”
Even simple thoughts like “It's a hot day” or “I feel sleepy” should be in English.
The more you think in English, the quicker you'll become comfortable speaking it.

Step 3:
Watch English videos and repeat what you hear, similar to shadowing.
Choose a short English video that you enjoy. Make sure it has subtitles so you can understand clearly.
Listen to one sentence at a time, then repeat it after the speaker. Try to match the tone, pronunciation, and speed, imitating the speaker closely.

Step 4:
Talk to yourself in English, even when no one is around (similar to Step 2).

Step 5:
Use your imagination to create simple stories in English in your mind. Ellipsis for clarity( brevity ).
